Sometimes it is hard to figure out what to do with bits and peices we collect from loved ones or bought cuz we thought it was cute. Grandma had these three peices from her mom and she loved them. I know this because she kept them in a box hidden. She put the things she loved away for safe keeping but rarely got to enjoy them because they were away. I on the other hand beleive I should see and enjoy the things I love and cherish. with a good glass glue I glued the two cups together end to end with the handals opposite and ordimental. I then glued the plate to the rim of the cup. It was that simple. Now it is used all the time and sits on my dining table with a candle on top.

We each like different styles as we each have differents tastes. If you don't know what you like go out into the world and look.
when you see some setting you like take note of the colors and size of what you see. Do not be affraid of color. Color adds warmth to a house creating a home. As a homemaker, and a working one at that, I want my home to be the one place that is warm and cozy yet reflects my style. I always love italian bistros so my kitchen is done as one. I love the tropics and old european too....so each room has a theem....but they all are connected by one nuetral color. So figure out what you like and then mimick it! Know that mistakes happen but paint is so forgiving.... If you decide its not for you just change it again. Don't be affraid to try new colors or techniques it is the uniqueness that will endear it to you and make others say "WOW!" . My art studio is my favorite room in my home. It is done like a jamaican beach. I have palm trees and a jamaican sunset painted on the window. with a colorful awning. |
