I enjoyed making these but let me warn you they take a lot of time. Clean your glass and decide on your design then begin laying the sequins. Once dry add a coat of clear spray or modge podge!
this bottle was a bit more difficult. I Painted the bottle white then in pencil drew my Santa on the bottle. I ten painted the red on the bottle. The hair and beard is unraveled cotton balls and modge podge. as is the nose and then painted. I used a piece of black ribbon and foil for the belt and buckle. I used white glitter over the fur of his coat. The hair and beard has hardened and it appears ceramic... After I painted his hands and face on I modge podged the entire bottle to encase it all and make it shiny and pretty! Hope you make one of your own!.
My son (23) and his friends save me bottles for my arts and crafts. I made the altered bottle with the bat on top and castle blocks (in pic to right ) for him as a thank you! He recently brought me a Royal Crown bottle. The bottle is really beautiful and I want to use the natural beauty of what ever I use in my art or as my art. As always when I am not sure of what to do I leave it in site of my day and at some point within a few days I figure it out.....Sure enough I did with this bottle too! The crazy part is that I used perminant markers to create the fuax colored or stained glass. I used modge podge but you must use sparringly and do one color at time. I left the lable spot open to see the beauty of the glass and color. I made another one that looks like glass balls...also one could use a dry erase marker to right what booze goes into it...as each of my decanters are functional art!
This is the tea set that started it all. One of my bestest friends Margo S. was moving and she gave me this tea set that was given to her. It is from Italy and has the colors of my livingroom dining room not to mention the tropical feeling about it. I found this tea pot at a garage sale for $3.00 and had to have it. A few days later I made this tea box. Now notice the colors in it are the same as in the tea set and the tea pot. Jamaica is my favorite place in the world...so far!
A great friend Bonnie G found this frame and thought I could do something with it...as she said "it is so beautiful, it would be ashame for it to be thrown away". I agreed and made the glass tray with the reverse painting on it. You can see how together it looks so beautiful and I love it for so many reasons....including my sons first two words together were "HOT TEA" which is Painted on the inside of the tea box! By repurposing, reusing, and being creative I have a tea set to treasure!
